Rolling Down The Road to be filmed

It’s finally time for our magical musical bus to leave the depot…

As the old adage goes, if at first you don’t succeed, try try again. Well, since opening ‘Rolling Down The Road’ at Half Moon Theatre in London in 2019, we’ve been trying non-stop to tour our show. However after three unsuccessful reschedules, we were beginning to wonder if anyone was going to be able enjoy our magical musical bus…

It is therefore with great excitement that we’re able to announce a filmed online version of the show, which will be available to book online from 13th February and then throughout half term. It will then go on a ‘digital tour’ including as part of Half Moon’s programme for 2021, which produced and opened the show way back in 2019.

The show will be recorded at The Story Museum in their new theatre space, ‘The Woodshed’. Needless to say, coordinating the filming of a theatre show during the Covid lockdown, not least one that involves so many instruments, has been a bit of a logistical challenge!

However, we’re confident that it’ll all be worth it when we finally get to share our giant bus brimming with music and song, with families up and down the UK (and beyond!). To finish with another old adage, good things come to those who wait. And boy have we waited….

About the show:

All aboard! Family singer songwriter David Gibb is proud to be the driver of the world’s first bus to be powered by song. However, his passengers’ choice of music can sometimes be a little unusual. From talking sunflowers to digging for buried treasure, David needs your help to find the perfect song for each of his passengers and get his magical, musical bus rolling down the road!

David’s songwriting draws from a wide range of musical influences, deftly blending folk, jazz, reggae and rock and roll, always with an emphasis on quality and musicianship reminiscent of the classics. Guaranteed to have both parents and children singing along in no time, this is show the whole family can enjoy together.
